The tale of two walks…

On Sunday the 8th of February we met up with the Newmarket Ramblers for an 11 mile walk frsunday 8th 017om the monument on shelter house corner near Elveden.

Amazingly so did 33 other walkers 🙂

It was a figure of 8 walk which apparently is always popular as many people just do the first half of the walk.

This was certainly the case today as only 11 walkers stayed for the afternoon half of the walk.

As usual Phil led us on a very enjoyable walk and we were blessed with some lovely sunshine after all the snow during the previous week.

Yesterdays walk was with the Cambridge Rambling club, it was advertised as a 14 mile walk but was in fact 16 miles.

Carolyn did a great job of leading us on what 3281393793_a21a333c1emust have been the muddiest walk I have ever been on 🙂

I always enjoy walking with this group as not only do they do the longer walks but they are a fun group to walk with.

This walk started from the fancy new blue bridge on the Hardwich road.

If you have not seen this bridge before then its worth going just for a look, as the bridge itself must be a mile long 🙂

Geoff’s Everytrail of this walk can be seen here and all my photos from both walks can be seen here

finished off with coffee.

A truly excellent meal, now I have another treat, a complete surprise , all I know is that we have to be there by 10pm so watch out for Valentines part two 🙂

Love is in the air…

Glad to see that romance is not dead… the amount of guys walking round Tesco with bouquets of flowers and roses was amazing.
Some even had 3 or 4 bouquets, we just hoped they didnt have 3 or 4 valentines 🙂
One guy wanted to buy fish so he could cook for his wife… even though he hated fish.
He decided on Monkfish, a good choice, but when I asked him what he was going to do with it and he replied ” deep fry it ” I almost died.
I told him he should wrap it in parma ham and bake it in the oven, I assured him his wife would be impressed.

What are your plans for valentines day ?? and do you have a favourite valentines quote ?
I found a great quote this year but cannot share it with you……… just yet 🙂

Another chapter ends….

Well tonight was my last night at college and I now have a level 3 Diploma in Indian head massage as well as Swedish body massage.indian head

I have really enjoyed doing these courses and its opened up a new life for me.

Many thanks must go to Geoff for making it all possible and for all the encouragement he has given me.

He has also been the most perfect guinea pig for all my practice, and can now reap the benefits with massages every weekend for life 🙂

It seems I may have done these courses just at the right time as there is a rumour that they will not be funded for much longer at the college.

The government say all funding has to be made available for teenagers not older students.

So what will I do with myself on a Tuesday night now…….   go back to my first love and that’s the gym 🙂

Housekeeping….

Must be the week for housekeeping because like Ellee I have also been tidying my side bar.

Removing a few things and adding new things too image

Geoff experimented with the side links to my massage pages and my social networking places and I think they all work rather well.  ( what do you think ?? )

I decided to remove both blog rolls to Blog Power and Blog Hounds BUT that does not mean I will be leaving these blogging families.

I still have to tidy up my own blog roll then I will be all done.

Finally I will then find time to visit all my favourite blogs and I hope to find a few new ones on my travels too 🙂
