Water v Alcohol

My New Years Resolution was to drink more water.

I Drink no where near the recommended 2 litres a day.

Did you watch the program with Lisa Tarbuck in, ‘the truth about food’ they did an experiment with identical twins, and proved that if you eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg, that you didnt need to drink 2ltrs a day. it can be seen here

Then today I received this information and wonder if I really want to drink more water 🙂

WATER
It has been scientifically proven that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we will have absorbed more than 1kilo of E coli bacteria found in faeces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop! However, we do not run that risk when drinking Wine (or rum, whiskey, vodka, beer or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermenting and also alcohol kills the Escherichia coli bacteria.
So …
Water = Poop
Alcohol = Health
It is better to drink wine and talk sh^t than to drink water and be full of sh^t. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information; I am doing it as a public service.

Found another good blog today

The Psychiatrist Blog

and for anyone still not reading it

Wife in the North  is a must read her post today brought tears to my eyes.

Jogging again !!

After months of not Jogging I seem to be catching the bug again.

Have been out 3 times since Saturday and it certainly makes me feel good.

Only doing a 2 mile circuit from home and its taking me about 23 min’s so not very fast, but I am not doing it for the speed. I do it because its the best form of relaxation I know.

I think the reason I stopped going was that my boys started coming with me and it stopped being relaxing, also I tried to keep up with them which was an impossible task, so I pushed myself too hard and started getting some little aches and pains.

So now I keep sneaking out the house with out them. 🙂

As I am only 6 lb from my target weight at slimming world I am sure this will help me on my way too, BUT I did eat 2 hot cross buns today which wasn’t good, but they were delicious

Quilting,Knitting and Crafts

As well as Walking , Jogging, Baking Muffins and chatting I also like to do a little bit of Craft Work and Quilting.

It all started with Cross Stitch, then I joined a small Craft Club about 5years ago and have tried many new things since then.

The Quilts I have made are called Quillows  and are lap size Quilts, as they are easier to handle for a beginner.  They have all been made from a book called Magic Pillows Hidden Quilts by Karin Hellaby.

I have also made a few miniature Quilt squares and turned them into pictures, along with a Teddy , and endless  Iris folding  cards too.

I don’t have a sewing project on the go at the moment , but I am sure I soon will have .Having just got 2 new books, Cut loose Quilts and Triore Greeting Cards

This week I came across 2 great blogs, Pete Ashton of Bournville it was his post about Quilts that took my eye and i am sure it will be a good one to follow.

The other is on The ThunderDragon blog  and is about knitting Fake Breasts, an interesting story indeed, wouldn’t it be great to knit one.

Blogging Brings People Together

I have just spent an hour on MSN chatting to someone I have not seen since I left home.

All because she has been reading my Blog.

I was 17 when I left home and Samantha would have been 10. Our families used to go on holiday together, to Butlins

She is now 38 and I am 45 , we both have 2 children and will have lots to chat about.

Wonder if she remembers jumping into the pool at Butlins and breaking her front teeth………

A Rare occurrence

My boys are out for the day, Geoff is sunning himself in Dubai, so I find myself at home enjoying the peace.

No fighting over the PC so I can read my ever growing list of blogs, the latest addition being The ThunderDragon. I liked his post  Mythological Comparisons , I did the Quiz and wonder if that’s how my friends see me ???

You Are a Mermaid

“You are a total daydreamer, and people tend to think you’re flakier than you actually are.
While your head is often in the clouds, you’ll always come back to earth to help someone in need.
Beyond being a caring person, you are also very intelligent and rational.
You understand the connections of the universe better than almost anyone else.”

I can also play my own music,Norah Jones is a Favorite at the moment and she has a new Album out too which I must get sometime.

I did some exercise too, I gave in to my desire to go for a Jog I try not to go very often because I don’t think its good for my knees. But I find jogging so relaxing and love to go off on my own. Did just over 2 mile today.

Now I am going to bake some Muffins, and read some more of the blogs I like, here are a few on my list

Sexysmartblog

Everyday Goddess

Sicily Scene

Cupcake bakeshop

Wife In the North

Not forgetting the ones on my Blog roll either.

Tomorrow I have my Girlie walk to look forward too.

Update….just found another great blog…Yarn-a-go-go  it has a great post about Muffins too.

Hugh’s Road trip of Love

Well the Road trip seems to be going well. You can read all about it here. The video’s are well worth a look.

But I wonder how many people were disappointed to find they could not get a bottle of this Big Love wine.

After following Hugh’s blog post’s I was very disappointed to find I could not get this wine in my local  Tesco store.

Not to be put off I tried to order a bottle but that was not allowed either. Finally I tried on line but not available there till March.

So after getting all excited about it I felt a little let down, and wonder how many other people that had been following his blog also felt the same.

Luckily for me a bottle fell into my hands yesterday, proving that sometimes its not what you know but who you know………..

Update…you can vote for your favourite cartoon label here

Excellent Service

I would just like to say a big thank you to Adrian for returning my phone charger.

I left it at the Sheringham Youth Hostel last week-end.

Getting it returned was far cheaper than buying a new one , so that’s what I call excellent service.
