Off Colour…..

Sorry if I have been neglecting you all and not doing my blog posts But I have had some issues at home and I let someone stress me out.

Thanks to my dear friend Anne who was there for me as usualsunflower

Thank god I had re-joined the Gym as that’s where I have been every night.

Thanks also for all your great comments.

Now I have lots of blog posts to catch up on, a cake to ice and a great week-end to look forward too.

So best I get a smile back on my face.

Another Norfolk blog

I had a visitor to my blog called ….Knifepainter, its nice when you get new visitors.

Being a good blogger I went over to check his blog out not only is he from Mundesley near Cromer in Norfolk but he has some fantastic paintings too.

Geoff has a collection of nudes in his house the last one purchased last week from an open art studio we visited.

My personal favorite is Adam by Alan Richardson, who stands at the top of the landing and I just want to stroke him every time I walk past him…

Think Geoff and I will be paying Knifepainter a visit sometime…..

A result…maybe !

As many of you know I have had an on going battle with my Housing association, regarding my garden fences.

I have been waiting for my fences to be mended for over 6 months now afDSCF0447ter they were damaged in the storms at the beginning of the year.

Since then I have rang them many times to see when they would be coming to fix them.

As a single mum I have felt very insecure and vulnerable with no garden fences anyone could just walk into my garden day or night.

Today while I was out they arrived to take a look and will be round to fix them tomorrow.

Shame I will be at work because as James has found out you need to watch workmen if you want the job doing right.

Tomorrow I hope to be able to quote ” everything comes to those that wait “

So watch this space……

A Fishy tale….

I am sure most of you know that I work on the fish counter at the most loved supermarket 🙂

I have worked at this store since the day it opened so know all the staff and most of the customers.

Like most people some days I love my job other days I hate it….

Last week we had whole salmon on offer at half price and I only had 4 salmon in during the whole of the week.images

Today I went into work, the offer had finished and I had 15 boxes of whole salmon . That got my day off to a real good start.

Then to make matters worse while filleting a whole salmon I sliced my finger quite bad.

I never knew I had so much blood in me it was everywhere and took for ever to stop bleeding .

As from this week some of my fresh fish is now coming in frozen . The fresh fish is just not available at the moment ,too much fishing in the past and I wonder how long it will be before its unavailable altogether.

A special cake for a special person

Geoff has a big birthday coming up soon.

He hinted that he would like me to make him a birthday cake, something I have not done for a very very long time and never a proper fruit one.cake 003

Not to be put off doing one I looked through my favorite cake book…. Mary Berry’s Ultimate cake Book .

Last week I made the classic fruit Celebration cake, it took over 4 hours to bake and turned out looking and smelling very nice.

I am now feeding it with brandy preparing it for marzipan and icing.

What I hate most about making these cakes is that you wont actually know if its any good till the day its cut and eaten.

Sally’s gone all girlie…..

After doing our 10 lengths of Jesus green this morning with Caroline, we went into town as I really needed some new jeans.

While on our way we passed the craft market and some bags took mine and Carolines interest.bag 002

Some really nice bright unusual bags, so we stopped to take a look.

The bags are made in Cambridge by Ruth Schmid… her company is called Q here

They are made of new tarpaulin, which is light and easy to handle. The advantages of this versatile fabric, is that it’s also strong, heavy-duty, long-lasting and waterproof, making them just perfect as a swimming bag.

I just had tobag 004 have one and I choose a bright yellow and green one with added circles as decoration.

We then carried on into town where I got treated to the most girlie skirt you have ever seen plus a girlie top to go with it, thinking my walking boots would just not match my out fit I then just had to get some girlie shoes to match my new out fit.

I am not quite sure what came over me…I have never had anything so girlie before.

There is a special birthday coming up soon so now I have a special outfit to wear and you will have to wait and see what my outfit looks like 🙂

Day 2 Refuge d’ortu di u piobbu to refuge de Carozzu

Monday 18/6/07

Today we had an earlier start, woken by the other people getting up and ready for the days walking.

After a good nights sleep and feeling happy as I had not found day one that hard, I was looking forward to the days walking.

We set off at 6.20 am, little did I realize that this was going to be a much harder walk.cropppppppp

Infact we spent very little time walking today, most of our time was spent climbing, scrambling and bouldering…. all things I have little experience with.

So it took us 7 hours to reach the refuge, I was worn out and craving sugar….this was to be the day my love affair started with Corsican Cola.( a drink I never usually touch)

we did think we might use our tent tonight but the ground looked so hard and stony we decided to stay in the refuge again.

The showers here were very basic but you had plenty of room to move about in them.

The Guardian of the refuge did a great 3 course meal for 15 euro. and I think he took a liking to me as Geoff got his wine for free 🙂

An unusual request…

gse_multipart17411

Earlier this week I received an unusual request from Maple Kiwi, her blog is called

Love in a tent.

Hopefully I have been able to help her out but I am not going to tell you what this request was…..

To find out your going to have to buy her book called sex in a tent, which will be available from Amazon in October.
