Back to Work

Bad start to the day as I got up thinking it was tuesday, then realised it was thursday, difference being I start work earlier on a thursday, but managed to be only a few mins late. For those that dont know I work on the Fish counter at a tesco store. Today I had very little fish to sell just alot of whole salmon and salmon sides ,still on half price offer since Christmas.  Was not a busy day so I spent most of the day thinking about my GR20 walk and the training I must do. Thats perhaps why all I could think about was going for a jog when I got home.I used to do alot of jogging more jogging than walking at one time, but got sore knees so stopped going. Today was my first jog in 4 months and i did 2 miles in aprox 24 mins. I see Geoff has got another plan for another walk…some times I wonder if its him or me thats the mad one…..its the Lycian Way, which is in Turkey  but that will be another story

Christmas Walk

Today was the day of my Annual Christmas walk, with friends I have made from the RA forum. All the guys had cried off sick with man flu or other excuses so that just left four of us girlies. This was just fine because we had alot of chatting to catch up with. It had been decided that I would organize the walk this time, which is quite a risk as I usually get us lost….but not this time. The plan was to walk from Heacham to Thornham along the coastal path, then bus back to Hunstanton and walk the last 2 miles back to Heacham, this being about 10 miles but we were enjoying ourselves so much that we walked both ways making it 16.6 miles. Got back to cars in the dark, but the day had been wonderfull, full of chat and laughter

CORSICA GR20

Well I posted on the RA forum that I wanted a walking holiday next year but I never expected to get the opportunity to walk in Corsica.if all goes to plan I hope to do this walk in June 07. Going to have to do a lot of training because although I walk a lot and can do 20 mile walks, I’m not used to the hills or walking on consecutive days. Hope to have a training week ,in March, in the hills somewhere to see just how fit or unfit I am. I had a nice E-mail from Judy off the RA forum today offering words of encouragement, and i think that has made me more determined to do this walk. Judy herself is doing a fantastic walk soon, which will take her approx 8 month to complete , details can be found a www.alpinechallenge.info and i wish her lots of luck in her travels.

Christmas Day

After an exciting start to the day we went to Hunstanton to see the Round Table Charity Swim,

so did a thousand other people too. About 50 very Brave people turned out for the swim , most in fancy dress, which made an interesting sight. Next year my boys are going to do it too.

What a gift…..

Far too excited to write a real post, but had to try it out.Best Christmas present ive ever had, going to have tons of fun……Thank you so much Geoff
