My collection of goodies

On our way to Clowne at the weekend we called in to see my mum and dad.
I left with 2 jars of home made picked onions  and a huge Trout caught in the local reservoir.
In fact I have never seen such a huge trout , it weighs 3lb 5 oz and will feed me for the week 🙂
When I left Clowne I had over 3lb of tomatoes and over 4lb of plums.
I was over the moon with these as now I can make some tomato Chutney.

More from my Garden

Today we visited Clowne for a 60th birthday party.
The last time we visited I was given a crown of Rhubarb for my garden.

As its done so well and needed pulling for the 3rd time this year, I took some Rhubarb Muffins with me 🙂

Fresh from my Garden

My first crop of Blueberries picked yesterday and made into Blueberry Muffins 🙂

A Week-end to remember

As you know i spent the week-end in Finland.
We flew to Tampere then travelled on to Vaasa.
It was great to see all of Geoff’s family together.
The christening was held over on Replot Island , to get to the Island you had to drive over the Longest bridge in Finland.
It was a beautiful wooden church painted a soft blue, the funny thing was that it was tilted to one side, which gave you the most funny feeling.
The christening service was lovely, some in Finish and some in English.
Baby Liam behaved perfectly.
I loved the finish tradition of taking the baptism water outside and throwing it over your shoulder.

Later in the Evening Joakim took us out on a boat trip where Geoff and I had a swim in The Kvarken Archipelago, This was wonderful as you know how much we both enjoy a swim.

After a family picnic on the Sunday it was time to head back, so Geoff and I took the train to Tampere, meeting the others at the airport.

Although I did not see much of Finland, I got the feeling I would really like it there with all the water, Islands, Trees and sauna’s.

Everyone told me that I would get bitten by the mosquitoes but I was lucky to escape with no bites at all

Going Awol…

Tomorrow straight after work I will be heading over to Cambridge.
After a quick shower and change we shall be off to Stansted to catch a flight to Finland.
Its a short trip, so we can go to Geoff’s grandsons christening.
We fly home Sunday evening.
I have decided that from tomorrow till Monday I will not be on the internet at all and this also means no twittering.
I just want to enjoy spending some time with Geoff ,now he is home from his mega bike ride.
Its maybe the last weekend I will get to spend with Emily too before she goes off to university.
Wishing you all a great weekend, back soon 🙂

A new discovery

This week I was given a gift, a pot of virgin coconut oil.
I am not one for using lotions and potions but this oil is just divine.
A small amount rubbed onto your face at night leaves your skin feeling smooth and silky.
Virgin Coconut oil has many other health benefits too.
What you have to remember is that Virgin coconut oil is only liquid if it’s in an environment warmer than +25C, less than that and it solidifies.
So just get some of it and find a way to warm it up – e.g. if you just rub some in your hands, body temp being +37, it’ll turn into liquid in your hands.
Its made me think that this oil would be a wonderful one to use for an Indian Head Massage treatment.

Being indecisive .

I have fallen in love with this Mirror and now really regret not buying it.
I have been looking at it for a few weekends,so know that I really want it.
Now I am worried that it will be sold.
My thoughts were,if its still there at the end of the month then its meant to be mine.
Sometimes I hate being so indecisive, and I wish I had just bought it 🙁

Bargain of the Week….

Unlike some people I know I don’t have many handbags or even shoes.
In fact I have just one handbag and use it day and night week after week.
This weekend though I treated myself to what Emily would call….. A Sally Bag !
It was a real bargain knocked down to just ten pounds 🙂
