Just when you think its safe..

I go and get a blister πŸ™

Yesterdays walk was with the Cambridge rambling group.sunday 22nd 015

Vera led a group of 14 on a 16 mile walk from Audley end, over the undulating Essex countryside as far as Langley.

Where we had our lunch outside The bull then refreshments inside before the return walk.

This walk took us through some of the prettiest villages I have ever seen, obviously the people of Essex are not short of a bob or two πŸ™‚

As my ecco boots give me sore feet after about 15 miles I decided that today I would wear my new Asolo boots. sunday 22nd 007

A replacement pair for the faulty ones I had and boots that I have been wearing for many years now.

The last thing I expected was to get a blister but to be truthful they never felt as comfortable as my ecco ones.

So now its back to the drawing board and time to experiment with various socks and maybe see if I can get my ecco boots stretched at the local cobblers.

Another 5 min’s of fame… maybe !

Yesterday I received this e-mail from Thordis at Radio Norfolk

Dear Sally,

I am working on Graham and Karen’s mid-morning show at BBC Radio Norfolk and came across your webpage as part of research I was doing. We are looking for somebody to talk about twitter, blogging, facebook and all kinds of social network type things and I was wondering whether I could have a chat with you? Would it be possible for you to call me on 01603 284 787 as soon as possible? Unfortunately between 10am-1pm tomorrow I will be working on the show, but before and I after I can take your call. I am only covering so it would be best if you call before the weekend, but if you call next week, explain the situation to Edd (who I am covering for).

Thank you for your time!
Thordis

Unfortunately she didn’t realise that I had already been on Radio Norfolk in December 2007 and she seemed disappointed not to have been the person that “discovered ” me.

I have  E-mailed  her the link to my last 5 min’s of fame and now wait to see if I am going to get another   πŸ™‚

Not the perfect Chair

It has been really hard finding the right chair for my Indian head massage clients.

It had to have a low back, be comfortable and portable for in and out the car.

I need a sturdy folding chair that is cushioned but they are hard to find.

The one I have now is ok but I am not 100% happy with it, its pine foldable but quite hard to sit on.

To make the chair look better and more professional I have got a nice Indian cover but its slightly too wide.

I have a client tomorrow and I am feeling  nervous about it, all because of the chair …

How stupid is that  πŸ™

Vaccinations needed for Peru

As Emily and Geoff are off on their travels in 6 and 7 weeks time I thought I had better check out what Vaccinations they both need.

These are the ones you are advised to get…image

Hepatitis A … a faecal/oral infection spread through contaminated food and water.

Tetanus…contracted through dirty cuts and scratches.

Typhoid…a systemic infection transmitted via faecal/oral route, most commonly through ingestion of contaminated food and water.

Yellow fever…spread through the bites of infected mosquitoes.

Geoff should also consider..

Diphtheria

Hepatitis B

Rabies.

All of these are needed at least 4 weeks before travel, and as far as I know the only one you have to pay for is the yellow fever.

My nurse was very helpful and also gave me 4 pages of information to read.

I am booked to get mine 13th May πŸ™‚

So cute

These babies are made with  silicone. While some of the faces may look
Ò€œcraftedÒ€ rather than Ò€œrealÒ€, every detail is amazing.

The tale of two walks…

On Sunday the 8th of February we met up with the Newmarket Ramblers for an 11 mile walk frsunday 8th 017om the monument on shelter house corner near Elveden.

Amazingly so did 33 other walkers πŸ™‚

It was a figure of 8 walk which apparently is always popular as many people just do the first half of the walk.

This was certainly the case today as only 11 walkers stayed for the afternoon half of the walk.

As usual Phil led us on a very enjoyable walk and we were blessed with some lovely sunshine after all the snow during the previous week.

Yesterdays walk was with the Cambridge Rambling club, it was advertised as a 14 mile walk but was in fact 16 miles.

Carolyn did a great job of leading us on what 3281393793_a21a333c1emust have been the muddiest walk I have ever been on πŸ™‚

I always enjoy walking with this group as not only do they do the longer walks but they are a fun group to walk with.

This walk started from the fancy new blue bridge on the Hardwich road.

If you have not seen this bridge before then its worth going just for a look, as the bridge itself must be a mile long πŸ™‚

Geoff’s Everytrail of this walk can be seen here and all my photos from both walks can be seen here
