A grand day out….

Yesterday I had a surprise day in London. We visited 2 places that I had never been before, Camden Market and the Tate modern art museum.
I loved the atmosphere at the market and really enjoyed having a look round.
Shame all the clothes are definitely for much younger people but as you can imagine Emily fell in love with most of the nice girlie dresses.
I did not leave the market empty handed though, as I found some candle sconce’s something I had been after for a long time.

After walking along Regents canal and up Bond street we made our way along the Thames river to the Tate Modern art galley.
The Tate was an extraordinary experience, its hard to imagine what goes on in someones mind when they create this so called art.
I’m  afraid to say that I like my paintings to look like paintings so did not appreciate the modern art as much as some would.

Next time we shall go and visit the Victoria and Albert Museum and make sure we arrange to meet up with Lady Banana too

Name that fish…

and no its no Fred or Harry πŸ™‚

I tried this Fish, for the first time ,for my dinner tonight.
It was just baked in the oven, I very rarely add anything to my fish as I like to taste the flavour of the fish.

I wonder if you Know what fish it is……..  it was very nice πŸ™‚

still playing with scribeFire and love the way you can just drag photos into your post

.

Struggling..

Since getting my beloved blog for Christmas 2006, I have always used Live writer to publish my posts and i have also always used Flickr for storing my photos.
The only problem i have ever had is that live writer will not let me add a slide show or you tube to my blog posts.
Recently it was suggested by Geoff that i should move on and try other more improved applications like scribefire and Picasa.
He even did a blog post for me all about inserting slide shows using scribefire.
Not to be put off by a challenge I decided to try both out.
Usually it takes me about 15 mins to do a post, its stress free and an enjoyable experience.
My last blog post has taken me 2 days to do and even then Geoff had to actually post it for me πŸ™
As for Picasa well its going to take some getting used too I still want my photos on Flickr so now seem to have my photos all over the place, but i recognise the fact that picasa is good for backing up your photos.
I am determined to persevere with using both these applications so please bear with me, I will get there in the end. πŸ™‚

La Paz and The Road of Death

< >

La Paz is the capital of Bolivia and also the highest city in the world.
The reason for going to La Paz was to do the Road of Death bike ride.
Although I found the street markets totally amazing I did not really like La Paz, I found it very dry and dusty.
We would have loved to have stayed longer though just to visit the salt flats but I am sure the cold would have killed us.>

The Bike ride down the Road of death was totally amazing.
We did it with vertigo biking , an excellent company who looked after us well and provided excellent equipment.
The ride is not as dangerous these days as there is no traffic on the road.
One false move though and could easily end up over the edge πŸ™‚

Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca is located on the border of Peru and Bolivia.
It 3,812 m (12,500 ft) above sea level, making it one of the higest navigable lakes in the world aswell as the largest in south America.
These islands are made from the totora reeds, and are the home of the Uros tribe.
We decided to stay the night on one of these Islands.
Our room was made from the reed aswell as our bed .
It was a very cold experience but wonderful to wake up to the glorious sun rise.

Amazing !!

I have so many wonderful photos from my holiday in Peru, it is hard to know what to do with them all.
They will all end up on Flickr eventually.
For now here are a few of Machu Picchu

A Great ReadÒ€¦

Just in case you missed it , there is a great story in the July Issue of the Good Housekeeping Magazine.

I loved the way it was written and it really appealed to my sense of humour too.

Having just returned from a holiday of a life time.

Where I was privileged enough to  walk the Inca Trail and see one of the 7 wonders of the world.

It makes me very grateful for that day in October 2006 when Geoff walked into my life πŸ™‚
