Signing on….

Tomorrow my son has an appointment at the job center…..

When we returned from our holiday he went to work to discover they had decided to let him go, so was sent home with a weeks wages.

Naturally I was very upset as I know its going to be very hard for him to find another job.

Once again I thought please can this family just have a few months where nothing goes wrong….

Typically, being young and naive he said don’t worry I will soon find another job.

Three weeks later no job and now no money,I think he’s beginning to realize its not going to be that easy.

He was doing so well with his driving, passing his theory first time, but now its all come to a stand still.

One thing that has not suffered is his fitness as he now has more time to spend down the gym πŸ™‚

As for me well I sit and hope, trying not to stress out about the whole thing.

Keep smiling… that’s my motto !!

Setting the wheels in motion….

While in Cambridge yesterday I took Matthew’s application form to the Army careers office.

By the time I arrived home Sgt John Chivers had phoned, asking me to ring him back to arrange for Matthew to go for his entrance test’s.

He is now all booked in for Thursday at 1.30 and can expect to be there for about 3 hours.

He should have no problem with these test’s but getting his fitness up to standard is another matter.

I paid for his gym membership and we have been going 3 times a week, his brother helps push him but at the end of the day he has to do it himself.

This is where he really could do with his Dad, who was very fit and would soon knock him into shape.

He has to run a mile and a half aiming for 10mins.. yesterday on the running machine it took him 14 min’s. I wish he would run outside but I cannot talk him into it yet !!

Press ups will be the biggest challenge , 44 in 2 min’s, he can barely do 10 but I did ask the army guys for advise yesterday, they say I have to get him to work till his arms drop then rest a min then work till arms drop again repeating this for about 20mins.

99% of the time I think the foundation college at Harrogate will be fantastic for Matthew , give him opportunities he would never get if he stayed here.

The other 1% of me is scared, scared of being left here on my own……… but don’t tell anyone that as I would never admit to it.

A Great Reunion…

Just returned home today after my week-end with Anne.

We had a fabulous time.

Every time I am in Cambridge I go past the White stuff shop but never go in.

This time with Anne I did go in and wow I just loved all the clothes…I came out with a great new top and a fantastic skirt ready for the summer. Anne came out with two great looking tops.

We then had to go for coffee at savino’s to recover.

We had a great walk to Grantchester I walked at a slower pace than normal as I anne 018had to look after Anne πŸ™‚

Anne’s brother met up with us at the orchard tea rooms, so was good for her to see him and nice for me to meet him.

We enjoyed watching atonement but I was disappointed as I am sure not all the film is shown on the DVD .. will have to get Emily to confirm this ??

We also had a great sauna…Anne’s first so i kept it nice and cool for her  πŸ™‚

Sunday evening I gave Anne her massage, which I think she really enjoyed.

she was so relaxed we almost didnt make it out for our meal at The Varsity Restaurant where we had the Cyprus meze which was just delicious…

All in all a great week-end filled with fun chat and laughter….. a week-end to be repeated.
