Mother’s day walk..

A treat today 🙂

A longer walk than usual along the river from Cambridge to Ely.

Brilliant sunshine all way too 🙂

As its Mother’s day Geoff then treated me to tea and scones at the lovely Peacock tea rooms.

Watch out Andrew and Matthew he will be down to collect the money soon 🙂

We returned to Cambridge by train followed by the 2 mile walk back to Chesterton.

So 18 miles covered in total.

We finished the day off with a relaxing swim and steam followed by a much needed and enjoyed Indian meal.

Tomorrow I return home to collect my mother day treats from my boys, who both sent me lovely text messages today 🙂

A weeks exercise

This has been a good week and I feel really great for all the exercise I have done.

It all started last Sunday with a 15 mile walk

Monday it was a half mile swim and then an hour and a half yoga class

Tuesday it was a 4 mile run

Wednesday another hour and a half yoga class

Thursday almost a 4 mile run

Friday day off

then today a half mile swim

As lady M would say, all kinds of exercise is good  for the body and mind and I certainly get plenty of all 🙂

Heaven

Tonight for the first time since having my shower fitted I was able to enjoy a nice hot bath.

All thanks to a little gadget similar to this one

It certainly works and now I have plenty of hot water.

You don’t know what a luxury a bath is till you cannot have one !

An experiment

I have a wart on my finger 🙁

Many years ago I used to have about 10 of them…. but I just woke up one day and they had gone 🙂

This time a friend at work says try covering the wart with duct tape.

Been doing just that for 2 days now , something is happening to it but I am not sure what !

Will let you know if it disappears 🙂

A great day for walking

Today we decided it was time to get back to our walking with the Cambridge Rambling club.

We certainly picked the best day for it weather wise.

17 other people also thought today was the perfect day for a walk too.

We set off from Haverhill Sports centre for a 15 mile circular walk.

It felt good to be out walking again especially as the sun shone on us all day 🙂

Sarah the walk leader provided home made mince pies at coffee break too.

Then it was home to rip the kitchen out the house that Geoff is doing up ready to rent 🙂

It still amazes me how many calories I burn when walking or running I really should be as thin as a stick 🙂

Todays walk on google earth

Google Earth streams the world over wired and wireless networks enabling users to virtually go anywhere on the planet and see places in photographic detail.  This is not like any map you have ever seen.  This is a 3D model of the real world, based on real satellite images combined with maps, guides to restaurants, hotels, entertainment, businesses and more.  You can zoom from space to street level instantly and then pan or jump from place to place, city to city, even country to country.
Get Google Earth.  Put the world in perspective.

A Running Wednesday

As I don’t expect there to be any walking Wednesdays for a while, maybe months.

I have decided Wednesdays will become my running day.

Got off to a good start today with a 6 mile run and we shall see if I can build it up to 10 miles.

I did get a few surprises on my run today.

My track was completely flooded in more than one place and I don’t mean by just an inch or two of water 🙁

Most sensible people would have turned back but not me.

So I ran most of the way with very wet feet 🙁

Then I came across a herd of deer in the field next to me, but once they heard me puffing along they soon ran off.

It was a lovely sight though to see their white tails disappearing into the distance.

Also on a patch of road side I found at least 300 lovely snowdrops 🙂

I shall enjoy my stretch at yoga tonight that’s for sure.

My running stats from my Garmin Forerunner can be seen below….. notice how many calories I burnt 🙂

Spring is on its way

Time to spring clean the house, tidy the garden.

Then treat yourself to a nice relaxing massage.

It will make you feel good and is relaxing and invigorating.

It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

My coconut oil will moisture your skin too, getting it ready for summer and all those lovely clothes.
