The Rose Petal Beach

I have just finished reading The Rose Petal Beach by Dorothy Koomson.

Screenshot 21:02:2013 21:58It was a great read, I have also read The Ice Cream Girls by the same author and what i liked most about these books has been the endings… neither ended like you expected them too !!

Now the plan is not to start another book just yet but to spend some time knitting but we shall see how that plan goes…. as you cannot knit in bed !!

My running is coming along great at the moment, averaging about 10 miles a week, longest run being 4 miles so I hope I can keep improving on that till I am back up to the 10km mark 🙂

With all the running I have dropped another kg in weight which makes me feel very healthy, I did have a little panic when my Fitbit started falling apart but thanks to the great customer service they provide I had a replacement within 2 days.

Since having my fitbit its the first time in my life that I have managed to maintain any weight loss and I would highly recommend one to anyone wanting a healthier life style 🙂

Magical hills and mountains

My Fitbit and I are enjoying all the hill and mountain walking ……..

Sally on South West Coastpath

First it was St Ives in Cornwall, where I did one of the most undulating walks I have ever done, from St Ives to Pendeen along the South West Coast path.

Malvern Hills

Next it was a weekend away with the Cambridge Rambling Club where I especially enjoyed the walk in the Malvern hills.

Mont Chery

Now we are in Les Gets for 10 days, we started  with an afternoon walk around Mont Chéry in beautiful sunshine and with magnificent views as always 🙂

What next !

Over the weekend I achieved the last challenge that I had set for myself while Geoff was away walking the South West Coast Path.

The first challenge was to run my 10km

The second was to do a good walk on my own, something I really thought I would hate but ended up loving 🙂

The third was to walk 26 miles, which actually turned out to be a 32 mile day, as Geoff enticed me into town with the promise of dinner, amazingly my legs felt ok this morning, my toes just had a few hot spots.

My Friend ,Gina also did the walk with me and she did amazingly well as it was her first real walk, when you walk and talk the time and miles just disappear !

Fitbit says I did 67455 steps so I should get my 60,000 badge 🙂

Next its 11 days walking along the GR10 , in July, with Geoff and I can hardly wait 🙂

Chilford Hall Oxfam walk 26 miles at EveryTrail

(can you spot where we went wrong, too busy talking we missed a turning ! )

Shakespeare and walking

Well all my massage clients are happy 🙂

My cake is baked and my packing is almost done !

So tomorrow after work I can escape for a nice walk.

First we are heading off to Stratford on Avon where we shall be visiting the Royal Shakespeare Theatre to see Twelfth Night, then we shall spend the weekend walking with The cambridge rambling club.

On Monday we head off to Marlborough to walk The Ridgeway, a nice 87 mile walk, this will keep fitbit very happy…… and me too !

While I am away I will not be calorie counting but will try to make good choices and not over eat just because I am walking.

Only 2 kg to target weight 🙂
