Lynn Runners in Top Gear…..

Around 1,520 runners turned out for the Great East Anglia Run on Sunday.

This was the second year for this 10k run.

Not only did local people take part but some famous faces were to be seen too, including Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson

First Woman home was Norfolk’s Jane Clarke who was running in memory of local lad Duncan Gooderson who sadly died at last years race.

I tried to talk my boys into doing this run but no luck this year .

My oldest son did help to Marshall the race, and as there are no buses here on a Sunday that meant a 6 mile bike ride too and from kings Lynn.

An afternoon of Pimms and rounders….

Yesterday Geoff and I spent the afternoon in the beautiful grounds of Newnham College.

Where Kate was celebrating her 21st birthday.

She had a fantastic gift from 14 of her friends….a picture of all their hand prints.

After a lovely picnic with champagne,we had fun playing rounder’s.

Philip spent the afternoon trying to get the girls to promote his Equity Fingerprint on Bebo and My space

A great time was had by all.

Twitter…..What are you Doing ??

Alot of people have asked me what Twitter is…….

Firstly its fun and very addictive….

Loic le meur  blogged  ” If you don’t get Twitter your too old ”

Twitter is like a message board… where you have friends and followers.

Everytime you post up a message your friends and followers get that message on the net or on their mobile.

So one message can reach many people.

I made the mistake of having all my friends and followers turned on for moblie notifications, it drove me mad my phone never stopped twittering all day and night, remember not everyone is in England so there can be a time difference.

I now just follow my best friends…. and twitter from my mobile when I am away from my pc.

Why not join and add yourself to my  Twitter, its free and so much Fun.

A whole New World

I have been to London today.

Geoff and I went to Internet World at Earls Court.

Which is Europe’s largest business Internet and digital marketing exhibition. A whole new experience for me. ( yes another one )

High light of the day was meeting  Loic Le Meur,  a top french blogger.

His talk on blogging and the future of social software was very interesting.

Funny to hear that many blogger’s use Twitter and wear croc shoes

 I confess to doing both.

Also met Sam Sethi and Dennis Howlett  another 2 top blogger’s.

Bathroom…. update.

Well my bathroom has finally been finished.

The man came to lay the Lino this morning, its looking clean and fresh .

BUT and there is always a BUT they have to come back and sort my bath taps as they swivel about, shame as it means breaking the bath panel seal to get too taps.

Also I am disappointed that although they replaced some of my tiles they decided for some unknown reason to stop half way round the bathroom.

This would not matter if they had replaced them with the same tile but they only use white tiles and mine were originally green and twice the size of the white ones.

I have sent an e-mail to Longhurst Homes to see if they will come and finish the job off properly .

I also e-mailed them about my fences because as a single mum it is causing me worry and concern over the security implications.

C.R.U.F.C.

On Saturday I was lucky enough to go to the last match of the season. Even luckier because while Geoff and Philip sat downstairs with the commoners for lunch, I was upstairs with the elite.Which included Lord Archer.

Lunch was…

Smoked Mackerel with pickled cucumber & horseradish Creme Fraiche.

Pan-fried chicken supreme with an Aramagnac & green peppercorn sauce, served with new potatoes and fresh vegetables

.Cheese board, fruit, coffee and mints.

The weather was fantastic, maybe alittle hot for playing rugby but they played a fantastic game and romped home with a score of Cambridge 107 v Harrogate 5. The company was great, as always and many thanks to Philip for another great day.

Trekking Poles….

It has been suggested that I get some Trekking poles for when I do the GR20.

I tried some out many years ago but only for a short time as I just did not like them.

Its a mental thing with me as I like to have my hands free to keep my balance when needed.

I tried clip in shoes on my mountain bike for along time but I never got on with them either, I fell off my bike so many times , a good laugh for people with me but very sore for me.

So now I am wondering should I get some poles, maybe I would like just one but would two be better ??
