Spring is coming….

This morning before I left Cambridge we went for a stroll round the Botanic Gardens.

It was a fresh crisp sunny day and  a delight to see all the plants starting to come alive.

I especially enjoyed walking round the Glass house and seeing the beautiful Orchids.

We had a coffee enjoying the sunshine and the singing birds.

The Botanic Gardens are free on week days from October to March, so there is no excuse not to take a walk and enjoy these gardens.

Keeping fit with the Leg Stretchers…

Today we had set our alarm so we could go and join the Leg stretcher Group on their 19 mile walk.

At 8am we were on our way to Rougham near Bury St Edmund’s.P2170059

It was a cold frosty morning but sunshine was forecast for the day.

A fantastic 13 walkers turned out for this walk, which was led by Debbie.

The  actual route walked ( including detours 🙂 )  can be found here at Geoff’s  Wikiloc.

As you can see we kept up a great pace of 3.2 miles an hour

It was our first longer walk this year and my feet are aching tonight but what a great way to spend the day, in brilliant sunshine  and good company too.

Upgrading to XP from Vista !

Over the week-end I finally admitted that Vista  on my Amilo Li1705 was just never going to get better.

Having read all the forums and then reading how the new service pack  was in fact making your machine run even slower, I decided that the time had come to follow Geoff’s advice and remove Vista from my laptop and install Windows XP.

Just to be on the safe side Geoff decided to do this by getting a new hard drive. We then installed Windows XP on it.

Keeping the Vista program on the old hard drive just in case we had problems getting XP to work.

All went smoothly apart from finding the audio drivers for the VT8237A but thanks to Geoff’s determination we eventually found them.

The good news is that I now have a machine that goes at the speed of light, stays connected to the Wifi and has not yet crashed.
