In memory of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Candles floating down the River cam
Apart From the fact That Geoff is here π
Today I realized that I had a few spices missing
SpicesΓΒ needed for my Roasted Monkfish Chermoula.
Luckily I was in Cambridge and just a 10 min cycle ride away from the market.
Now if I had been at home it would have been a 10 mile car ride π
I left the Saffron out my recipe as I had no idea that it was so expensive, the lady on the market told me it was more expensive than gold
If only I had bought some back from Morocco with me !
Anyway the Monkfish is now marinading in all the lovely spices π
The rest of the day has been spent reading up on how to do short heel rows I think it has sunk in and I know what has to be done π
My son Andrew has just had his first Tattoo
You either love them or hate them , I think this looks really good.
Its in memory of his Dad , who would have loved it π
It took 3 hours to have done and he says the last bit was painful.

As Geoff’s chest is much better we made it out on our Sunday walk with the Cambridge Rambling Club. This week it was from Anglesey Abbey Just a small group of us, as many are away on holiday walking in the mountains. My new Scarpa boots felt comfortable for the 14 miles we walked. I may just have them broken in ready for our China trip in 7 weeks time π Plan your trips with EveryTrail iPhone Travel Guides This week has been very busy for me It was Geoff’s birthday on Wednesday so I have been driving up and down the A10 all week. We celebrated Geoff’s birthday by going out to Lunch at The Tivoli, the new weatherspoons pub. It was excellent value for money. Then in the evening we went to Downing college Gardens with family and friends, to see the Shakespeare play, Love’s Labour’s Lost which was very enjoyable The weather was very kind to us too and the rain kept away π This year I made Ginger and lemon Cupcakes as the birthday cake and very delicious they were too ! Now I need to spend some time catching up with all my favourite blogs so I will be visiting you all soon π This year there seems to be an abundance of poppies The ones around me have been around for months this must be due to the lack of rain, which usually spoils the petals I took my camera out and took a few photos to share with you π < > > I enjoy walking with my friend T She always knows some local history or has a strange story to tell π Wednesday was no exception. As we walked through Eastmoor we came across some houses that had hundreds and hundreds of small stones packed into the mortise between each brick. Now unfortunately I cannot tell you why π As it might spoil it for when T leads the Newmarket Ramblers on this walk later in the year But it might be fun for you to try and guess the reason why all these small stones are there π
