I love Fridays, it means the week-end is almost here and I get my few days in Cambridge with Geoff.
I love to bake on a Friday Afternoon while I hang around so I can take my son to football.
Today I made Date and Walnut Muffins and more Rock Cakes.
The smell wafting from my kitchen was glorious.
I have also bottled my Sloe Gin… which not only looks good but tastes good too !!
I had an idea to make Muffins with the sloe’s from the gin but when I tried one I decided they were far too bitter.

Came home from work to a nice surprise.
Cherry pie has given me the Chatty Blogger Award,it did make me smile and remember all the times I have been in trouble for "Chatting".
There is nothing like a good chat to cheer you up !!

just lately my head has been buzzing.
I have been driving myself mad ,thinking about nothing but houses and moving to Downham Market.
On top of this I worry about my boys, its very stressful with one not having a job and the other getting ready to leave school too.
For now I have decided I should stop thinking…
I should be grateful I even have a house, there was a time when I was being threatened with having to live in a bed and breakfast miles and miles away.
That would have meant loosing my job too.
To help clear my head I have booked myself in for An Indian head massage next week at college.
Not only will it clear my head but I will also get to see what the course is like, in case I decide to do it next year 🙂
Today I met up with Geoff in Downham Market.
He finally got me to go and look at some houses at a new development called Winnold’s Green.
which is in a brilliant location right next to the Train Station.
The showroom was very nice but the size of the third bedroom was tiny, far too tiny for a 6ft teenage boy.
I also became very aware of the fact that I will never be able to afford to buy a house.
A fact I did all ready know !!
I would need to earn at least four times more than I already earn in a year,something that I think is just impossible.
Impossible partly because I would die if I had to work that many hours at Tesco and partly because I want a life and have no desire to spend my life at work.
I work to live not live to work !!!
So I expect I will buy my new car… help my son out by giving him my old car, and then just hope that maybe one day I will get a housing association house in Downham Market
The rest of our day was spent doing something I love…. walking.
We walked along the river from Downham market to Denver sluice.
Called in at Denver Windmill , carried on through Denver village before taking a footpath back into Downham Market.
A great way to end the afternoon. 🙂
