Addicted

At the same time I started my French class I also started a beginners course in Yoga.
I may be struggling with my french but I am just loving the Yoga.
Having always done high impact aerobic exercise with very little stretching, my body is just loving all the stretching its now getting.
My son Andrew who is a very keen kick boxer even comes to yoga class with me.
I never thought for one moment I would enjoy the yoga as much as I do.
This is definitely one thing I will not be giving up πŸ™‚

Half Way

That’s me half way through my 10 week beginners French Class.
The class numbers have dropped by half and I am most definitely the only beginner.
I do enjoy the class , we have some fun and I always learn something even if it is just a new word.
Early on I realized that maybe before I took a french class I should of taken an English class…..
Then tonight I was horrified when we practised our French numbers by doing the times table.
I have never known my times table off by heart so when everyone else could just real off the answer they had to wait for me to work mine out, at that moment I just wanted to die πŸ™
One thing i know for sure… I will never be able to hold a conversation in French but I certainly know more now than I did 5 weeks ago.

My homework or Devoirs was to write about myself.

This is what I wrote and all of it was done using books notes etc.

Salut
je m’ appelle sally. je suis anglaise.
Jai quarante-huit-ans.
l’habite avec mon deux fils. ils sont dix-sept et vingt et un ans.
je adore le montagne.
Je vais a les alpes francaises et je frais souvont le ski.

Its half term next week and I hope I go back to finish the course πŸ™‚

Am I or Arn’t I

I have been thinking about changing internet provider for months well maybe even years.
After my last Upset with AOL its taken me 10 months to stop thinking about it and do it
Yesterday October the 13th was switch over day.
First disappointment was that my BT wireless hub had not arrived.
Not quite understanding how these things work I half expected to have no internet when I returned from work.
But I do have internet how ever is it with AOL or BT.
BT says its certainly BT internet on my line but when I look up my IP address it still says carphone warehouse.
I know it will take another 10 days before my internet account closes with AOL and my wireless Hub is in the postal sorting office in Milton Keynes.
What a shame that I cannot get twice the speed if I have Both AOL and BT it would certainly solve my problems with streaming on BBC Iplayer πŸ™‚
In the mean time i sit and wait for the postman  πŸ™

How to Get things done.

I have been browsing through a book lent to me by @cloudgazer.
“How to get things done” with out trying too hard by Richard Templar.
How to Get Things Done without Trying too Hard  is
the wise and witty antidote to procrastination, the definitive manual
for getting more done and the best and simplest guide to finding time
to do all those little things you know you need to do, but usually
canÒ€ℒt be bothered to.

Most of the advise is pure common sense but one chapter did make me think.
Chapter 8 – Know yourself.
It describes me to perfection.
Only today I found myself thinking about what I shall do once my French Class ends πŸ™

Dunwich with Jesus Green.

Today was the annual trip to Dunwich with the folk from Jesus Green pool.
Geoff and I turned up with another 16 brave souls for the yearly swim.
The weather conditions were much better than last year and the sun even came out and smiled for us.
I managed to stay in the sea for a good 20 min’s and some even managed 30 min’s.
We then had a fish and chip lunch, before walking along the beach to Dunwich heath national trust centre.
Where we had a welcome cup of tea before walking back and sampling Terry’s delicious Apricot wine.
A great day out enjoyed by all πŸ™‚

Brewing…

After my disappointment of not finding any sloes last year.
They seemed to be in abundance this year.
So before we went off to Les Gets I went and picked some and popped them into the freezer to await my return.
Yesterday I got some Bargain Litre bottles of Gin from Aldi
So now I have 3 lots of Sloe Gin Brewing.
I had a little sample of my Raspberry Gin and its tasting quite delicious, by Christmas it will be divine.
Next week I must find time to make my Damson Jam.
