My Garden in May

Its so exciting to see the apples starting to grow, on dwarf trees only planted last year.

My gooseberry bush is full of berries too.

I will cover it with netting soon to stop the birds from pinching all the fruit like they did last year !

Think I have enough Rhubarb to make Geoff a Rhubarb crumble at the weekend.

The Blueberry bush that I thought had died because I watered it with tap water seems to be doing fine and I might get some berries if i am lucky.

Now, dare I say this , we could do with some rain but just enough to water the gardens πŸ™‚

I have a partridge in a pear tree!

… well, not quite. A wood pigeon in a cherry tree. Goes by the name “Flapper” ..!

Because the feathery swine flaps off whenever he sees me!!

Brian and Anne…Not raining here Yet !!

Blueberry plants will require watering from the time their buds show in the Spring to when the leaves drop in the Autumn. Remember always to use rainwater as tap water contains lime.

    Lady banana… I would love a water butt !

Geoff ..don’t worry you will get your crumble πŸ™‚
