A Very Demanding Walk….

A map showing all three walks we did.

On the third day we decided to walk from Glyn Ceriog to the Berwyns.

It turned out to be a very hard walk .

Paths very un-clear so most of the walking was through heather and bogs.

I even managed to sink into a bog almost up to my knees…..

We never  made it up to the top of the Berwyns, so that’s a good excuse to go back again.

Can tell you I was real pleased to see The Hand Pub where Philip was waiting to take us home.

Walking in Wales…

Over Easter I was lucky enough to go off to Glyn Ceriog nr Llangollen in Wales.

We had fabulous weather which gave us the chance to get in three days of excellent walking .

I carried a full Ruc-sac on all three walks which was good training for when I go to Corsica, glad to say I found my Ruc-sac comfortable and easy to carry.

I was surprised at how much extra weight the water added and I was also surprised to see how much I drank.

That could have been due to how much I sweated going up those hills 🙂

My boots seemed to work well my heel carried on healing even with all the walking, I did still get a few hot spots, but I think my skin just needs to harden in these places.

Next good training week-end is 20th of April when we are off to Les Gets in French Alps .

Only 10 weeks till Corsica….

A Family Day…

No Walking or Bloggingg during the day for me today.

My mum, Dad and Nephew came to visit us which made a nice change and a chance for my boys to see their cousin , who we don’t see often enough.

While the boys played football , my Dad had me out in the garden, he gave my grass first cut of the year, then re-laid some patio slabs that needed doing…. I had tried to do them but had to admit defeat !!

Then I had a lesson on how to put air into my car tyres… so that’s another thing I can now do on my own.

All I need now is Longhurst homes to come and mend my Garden fences, it broke my Dads heart seeing them in such a mess, knowing how hard I had worked last year to get it all looking nice.

Friends….

Having moved about so much in my life,I don’t have many close friends.

You learn to move on and make new friends.

One person I have stayed in touch with has been Anne, we have laughed together and cried together alot over the years and have always been there for each other day or night.

We must chat on the net almost every day, when I am feeling lonely I know she is always there on line.

She has just done a very touching blog post about our friendship and brought back many memories for me.

Glyn Ceriog

Home now from a fantastic few days at Glyn Ceiriog nr Langollen in Wales.

Got 3 full days of walking in, covering almost 60 miles, and I don’t mean Norfolk miles.

First time I carried my full Ruc-sac aswell so feeling quite pleased with myself if a little tired.

Philip and children were great company and looked after us well, shame they were not up to walking with us 🙂

TGO Magazine

Before I go off for the week-end, I must say a Big Thank you to Andrew Berry from the TGO magazine , as today I received a photocopy of an article about the GR20.

It was in the November 05 issue so I have been lucky to get a copy.

I will look forward to reading it over the Week-end.

Weird Darren pointed me in their direction so many thanks to him too.

Now I must go and pack…. HAPPY  WALKING !!
