I have been browsing through a book lent to me by @cloudgazer. “How to get things done” with out trying too hard by Richard Templar. How to Get Things Done without Trying too Hard is the wise and witty antidote to procrastination, the definitive manual for getting more done and the best and simplest guide to finding time to do all those little things you know you need to do, but usually canΓ’β¬β’t be bothered to. Most of the advise is pure common sense but one chapter did make me think. Chapter 8 – Know yourself. It describes me to perfection. Only today I found myself thinking about what I shall do once my French Class ends π
Today was the annual trip to Dunwich with the folk from Jesus Green pool. Geoff and I turned up with another 16 brave souls for the yearly swim. The weather conditions were much better than last year and the sun even came out and smiled for us. I managed to stay in the sea for a good 20 min’s and some even managed 30 min’s. We then had a fish and chip lunch, before walking along the beach to Dunwich heath national trust centre. Where we had a welcome cup of tea before walking back and sampling Terry’s delicious Apricot wine. A great day out enjoyed by all π
After my disappointment of not finding any sloes last year. They seemed to be in abundance this year. So before we went off to Les Gets I went and picked some and popped them into the freezer to await my return. Yesterday I got some Bargain Litre bottles of Gin from Aldi So now I have 3 lots of Sloe Gin Brewing. I had a little sample of my Raspberry Gin and its tasting quite delicious, by Christmas it will be divine. Next week I must find time to make my Damson Jam.
Its taken me 48 years to discover how nice it is to truly relax π Yesterday was my birthday and Geoff treated me to a day at the Thermal baths in Ovronnaz., which is high up in the mountains over in Switzerland. I also had a massage which after my experiences in South America was totally heaven, by the time the guy had finished with me I had just about melted into the massage table π The views from the thermal baths were just breath taking, words or photos could not begin to show you just how breath taking it really was.
It was a fabulous day and a great treat for someone who is more used to giving massages than receiving them.
This was a walk we had never done before but due to a comment left on Geoff’s Everytrail…..
“dorothybowling – Aug 18, 2009 at 05:38:01 pm I have looked at Roc D’Enfer from a distance many times and as I have no head for heights at all, in fact the very thought terrifies me I have no intention of ever attempting this! Walked along side it a couple of weeks ago. However, loved looking at you detailed photos, which only serve to confirm that I will never attempt this walk!! Friends wish us to try Mont de Grange which I am not certain about. You don’t have any pictures of this too by any chance?!”
we decided to give it a whirl π
You could not compare this walk to the Roc D’Enfer walk at all, some ladyactually died doing that walk just last week :-(. Even so Mont de grange was a tough walk and all uphill from the moment we started off by Lac Plagnes .
Happy to be at the top…
