Last year my first attempt at making sloe gin went down very well.
The taste has improved with age and I love the syrupy texture of the drink.
For the past few weeks I have been out and about looking for some Sloes.
I was wondering why I could not find any, even in the places where they were in abundance last year.
Then yesterday I heard on the radio that this was a bad year for sloes due to the wet summer.

Oops we had some friends around who took rather a liking to it – so both bottles are now MT 🙁
Not the same as making it yourself, but at the Cambridge farmer’s market has a lady running a stall selling sloe gin – looks like she makes it herself, too. Not sure where she got her sloes from, though!
She also does a raspberry brandy, which I tried and found to be really quite nice – and I don’t even like brandy!
