The search continues….

Seven weeks into my Indian head massage course.

Its only an 18 week course so very intense.

Which means a lot of the paper work has to be done at home, which I don’t like,I find learning in a group far easier.

The search for a massage chair continues today, the routine I am being taught cannot be given in the traditional Indian head massage chair.

I need a normal low back comfortable chair which is proving hard to find 🙁

Last week we learnt about the different oils that can be used for an Indian head massage.

Listed below are some of the more well known oils

Almond Oil…… high in nutrients. An excellent hair conditioner. softens, moistures, protects and stimulates growth. Reduces muscular pain and tightness. Avoid if you have a nut allergy.

Pumpkin Seed Oil….Extremely nourishing. Good for dry and stressed hair. Rich in vitamin A,E, C and K fats and proteins head

Olive Oil….Helps to increase heat, Reduces swelling, Relieves muscular tightness and pain. High levels of unsaturated fatty acids. A good moisturizer for skin and hair.

Coconut Oil…..Very moisturizing and softening to skin and hair Relieves inflammation. Good for dry brittle hair..Take care with hypersensitive skin.

Sesame Oil…..Strengthens, nourishes and protects hair. Can improve skin texture. Excellent for dry skin and hair. Reduces swellings and alleviates muscular pain.

Jasmine Oil…White jasmine flowers are cooling and calming .Helps relieve fever and sunstroke .Increases feeling of love and compassion. Jasmine is one of the most expensive in the world. Leaves hair shiny.

Mustard Oil….A very warming Oil. Breaks down congestion from tense muscles. Reduces pain.

Personally I will be using the Almond oil as It is what I use for my Body massage and I find it has a nice silky texture with  no distinctive smell, which suits most people.

how nice to hear from you lady Macleod, yes you could put almond oil in your hair But remember to add shampoo to dry hair before adding water else oil will be hard to get out of your hair.

James…. coconut oil was used on me the other week.. and i had a slight reaction to it 🙁

Mutley… i will look into the use of rape seed oil 🙂

So when can you be at my house? Can I use the almond oil for my hair just rubbing it in? Should I leave it in for a bit? Gods the jasmine oil sounds sooo lovely.
